CONGRATULATIONS ~

Hello my fellow cadets,
Congratulations on your victory in the 2009 Sports Day Marching Competition... You guys did very well in the competitions on the fact that you did not really have enough time for practice, and I can feel your efforts throughout the last few days before the competition. Well, for others it may seems like a normal contest between the uniform bodies, but in SMKSB, its different, you need huge effort and face tremendous pressure in order to HOPE for winning the title. It is an intense battle between the rivals... and indeed for this year, SBKRS is crowned as the Champion of all...
I'm very glad to see you guys can act independently without any assistance, which also includes the teamwork and dedication among yourselves... it really meant a lot to me. I hope you guys can take a good rest, and if possible (as some ppl are having exams)celebrate the victory.. you guys surely deserve it.
Wish all of you good luck in both academic and co-curricular... all the best
One for All, All for One...
Regards,
Nicholas Chua

GOODBYE, KIM GUAN

Our beloved KRS member, L/Cpl. De Kim Guan, Senior 2 Batch F, has passed away today (saturday) on 12.45pm due to leukimia disease. He has been fighting so bravely with the illness since years before. He was a very active KRS member, although he still receiving treatment, he insisted to participate in the marching competition which we won the First Prize. He also helped the seniors teaching juniors marching skill. He joined the trip to SMK JPP, Perak for the KRS gathering on 13th of June 2009. In that gathering, he was one of the team representing SBKRS to particpate in the Drama competition, which we got the champion trophy.

We are gathering members to pay our last respect to Kim Guan tomorrow. Those who want to join us please gather tomorrow (Sunday) 9am in front of the school (SMKSB). Ex-seniors are driving so we think there should be enough place. Please wear your full uniform as a respect to Kim Guan who love KRS alot.

Thank you, Kim Guan for your contribution in SBKRS, you will be remembered forever... you are forever the member of SBKRS. We're happy to have you as our member.

Rest in peace ...
Once a cadet, always a cadet.

The 4th SBKRS Power Hand-Over Ceremony

The ceremony, which is the 4th since 2005, is the last active day of the form 5 seniors. In this ceremony, the seniors will pass their duties to the next batch of seniors. The ceremony is divided into 2 parts, the 1st part is the formation ceremony on the tarmac. The main highlight of this part is the power hand-over by the outgoing corps leader to the new corps leader. Then the new corps leader will read the oath in front of the outgoing seniors to promise his/her responsibility to them. After all the cadets salute them, they will march out from the formation. By this time, they are no longer carrying the title of seniors, but the title of "ex-seniors".
This meaningful day on 1st August 2009, although the morning sky seemed gloomy, it did not pull down the atmosphere of all the cadets ! All of them reached the school on time, and the ceremony started off with the flag-raising event. The ceremony still in-charged by the outgoing corps leader, Sgt. Desmond Tan.

The moment of truth... when the outgoing Corps Leader Sgt. Desmond Tan announced : "Dipersilakan saudari Christine Tan ...". Cpl. Christine Tan quickly answered the call and marched out to the front of Desmond. The outgoing Corps Leader passed the Tongkat Kuasa and the Red Sash to her, which are the symbol of authority of SBKRS Corps Leader. Then she received a tray which consist of the Corps Leader's and SBKRS offical stamp cops, the Corps Leader's tag, the SBKRS bank account passbook and atm card, a bunch of keys which included the key of krs room, and also the Golden Service Star. Desmond then marched back to the form 5 seniors' line. Christine ordered all cadets to salute and thanks the form 5 seniors to honour their contributions to SBKRS for so many years. The form 5 seniors marched out from the formation, which marked the end of their cadetship in SBKRS. Christine took over the formation and gave an official speech to mark her the start of her office as the 7th Corps Leader. She dismissed the formation and the ceremony quickly moved on in the open hall.
The first event in the hall was the speech from each of the form 5 seniors, the new Corps Leader and Sir Nicholas. Then WO2 Ho Wing Lok, the Chairman of the Committee Appointment Board, announced the new committee members. The new committee members received their respective symbol of authority, including the tags, the files and the stamp cops.
The new committee members came out in a line in front of all other members for the oath taking event lead by Christine. Then it followed by the SBKRS pledge by all cadets.
The event moved on to the presentation of souvenirs. The souvenirs for this year is a glass shield award and a plush toys for each form 5 senior. The hall event ended with some songs and photo session before they went on to the next and last event - the water games.
We thanks to the form 5 seniors for contributing their precious time to develop SBKRS. Their contributions include the achievements in JPP Gathering, won the marching competition in Sports day, implement the Service Stars, and many more. SBKRS obviously become stronger and better under their leaderships :

  • Warrant Officer 2, Ho Ling Lok - Cadet Officer, Treasurer
  • Staff Sergeant, Tan Kai Leng - Cadet Officer, Secretary
  • Sergeant, Desmond Tan - Corps Leader
  • Sergeant, Chan Hoe Hwa - Deputy Corps Leader
  • Sergeant, Hoh Jun Shen - QM Officer
  • Sergeant, Kan Chan Wai - Activity Officer

Thank You, Seniors.

We wish you all the best in your SPM, your future studies and your careers. Thanks for everything you give to us.
