The ceremony, which is the 4th since 2005, is the last active day of the form 5 seniors. In this ceremony, the seniors will pass their duties to the next batch of seniors. The ceremony is divided into 2 parts, the 1st part is the formation ceremony on the tarmac. The main highlight of this part is the power hand-over by the outgoing corps leader to the new corps leader. Then the new corps leader will read the oath in front of the outgoing seniors to promise his/her responsibility to them. After all the cadets salute them, they will march out from the formation. By this time, they are no longer carrying the title of seniors, but the title of "ex-seniors".
This meaningful day on 1st August 2009, although the morning sky seemed gloomy, it did not pull down the atmosphere of all the cadets ! All of them reached the school on time, and the ceremony started off with the flag-raising event. The ceremony still in-charged by the outgoing corps leader, Sgt. Desmond Tan.
The first event in the hall was the speech from each of the form 5 seniors, the new Corps Leader and Sir Nicholas. Then WO2 Ho Wing Lok, the Chairman of the Committee Appointment Board, announced the new committee members. The new committee members received their respective symbol of authority, including the tags, the files and the stamp cops.
The new committee members came out in a line in front of all other members for the oath taking event lead by Christine. Then it followed by the SBKRS pledge by all cadets.
